Another door opens

When I built the front door many moons ago, I didn't quite make the tenons big enough to support the weight. Its oak and its about 112cm wide or 44" in old money so that's one heavy door.

Fixed with an adjustable strap that I can tweak as required

And with a little blacksmiths flair to add authenticity.

opens and shuts now, just like .....errr.....a normal door :)

Granite

To finish off the salon. Top tip...don't leave little bits and think, I'll do that later, because later may be several years later until you "get-around-to-it" ha!

Take this dingy hole for example!

Granite slabs cat to a pattern I made to fit the hole

Much better!!

It would of course have been better to have completed the job two years ago when I did the room lol!

Its all too beautiful....

I've added a little colour to the otherwise monochrome palette in the Salon and been practicing my sewing...again

But I've not been able to find where you put the 2 stroke oil yet!!
