Even more progress!

To cause such devastation!

Its what an estate agent would describe as "in need of some modernisation"

And the timbers for the new roof

When they build the barn you would have thought they would have made in the same pitch as the house!

And you don't want that falling on you

Day something or other...

Chimney breast framing 

Back wall insulated and boarded just leaving the arrow slot in its little alcove

Front wall slope insulated and boarded including the tricky bit over the window

Just that little lot below to put up tomorrow...eek

Its going to be a busy day!!

Oh yes had a power cut today so the range came in useful

Day six

The odd bit in the floor that was a poorly thought out "feature" had to go

Now made good and patched in with new floorboards. As a friend of mine said "its so nice to have wall to wall floors"

And braced underneath

Stud walls going up

off cuts of studding to fasten the top to the ceiling rail

I've had to leave a panel out of the stud wall by the stairs to get the rest of the plaster board up. That's tomorrows job! The 2 way lighting circuits are installed and working. The switches by the door and then next to where the bed will probably be. The panel in the top is the lighting distribution box so you can get at all the connections later. Actually French wiring is a lot more rational than English which by comparison seems a bit of a kludge really.

Character

The arrow slot the the bedroom....how cute is that!

Under which is an odd bit of floor I will have to tidy up

And shelves

Although I may loose the bookcase behind the wall

The only problem with character is it can be a little dusty!
